Terms of use

PartyBooth is a shared camera roll for one party. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it — and you can delete your account at any time from Settings or at /account/deletion.

PartyBooth is in private beta, invitation only, and for people aged 18 or over.

What you may not post

Everything below applies to photos, videos, the name you choose, and anything you type into a report. It applies inside a private party exactly as it would in public — the other people at that party did not agree to see it either.

• Sexual content and nudity. No pornography, no sexual content, and no nudity — including images that are sexual in context rather than in content. There are no exceptions for a private party.
• Anything involving children. No sexualised depiction of a minor, in any form, ever. This is reported to the authorities rather than moderated.
• Violence and gore. No graphic violence, no injury or death presented for shock, and nothing that glorifies or encourages harming a person or an animal.
• Hate and harassment. No slurs, no content attacking someone for who they are, no threats, no sustained targeting of an individual, and no encouragement of others to do any of it.
• Illegal activity. No content promoting or facilitating illegal acts, and no sale of regulated goods.
• Other people's privacy. Do not add a photograph of someone who has asked you not to, do not post identifying documents or anyone else's personal details, and do not use PartyBooth to record people who do not know they are being recorded.
• Impersonation and deception. Do not pretend to be someone else, and do not upload content designed to mislead the people at the party about who took it or what it shows.
• Spam and advertising. A party's camera roll is for the party. No advertising, no bulk uploads of unrelated material, no links to anything commercial.

How this is enforced

• Report anything that breaks these rules — every photo and video in a party has a report control, and reports go to the party's hosts.
• Block anyone you do not want to see or be seen by. Blocking is yours alone; nobody is told.
• A host may decline or remove anything in their own party, for any reason, and does not have to explain it.
• We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules, without notice, and may do so for a single serious breach.

Reports go to the hosts of the party the item is in, never to the person who posted it, and never with the reporter’s name attached. A host can approve, decline or remove anything in their own party at any time.

Your content stays yours

You keep every right you have in the photos and videos you add. You give PartyBooth permission to store them and to show them to the other people in the same party, and to nobody else — that is the whole of the licence, and it ends when the content does.

You can withdraw anything you posted, at any time, from “My media”. Withdrawal is permanent: the record is tombstoned and the stored file is deleted.

Only post what you are allowed to post

By adding something you confirm that it is yours to add, and that the people recognisable in it are content to be in a party’s shared gallery. If somebody asks you to take a photo of them down, take it down.

Ending your use of PartyBooth

You can delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules — for a pattern of smaller breaches, or immediately for a serious one — and we do not have to warn you first.

What happens to your data when an account ends is set out in the privacy policy, in plain terms: access ends at once, and everything is erased thirty days later.

No warranty, and the limits of what we owe you

PartyBooth is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available, that an upload will succeed on a crowded wifi network, or that nothing will ever be lost. Keep your own copy of anything you would be upset to lose — the photo on your phone is the original, and what you send us is a copy.

Nothing here limits anything that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes

If these rules change in a way that matters, this page gets a new version number and you will be asked to agree again before you post anything else. Fixing a typo does not count.
